Surgeries or Alternatives
64There's been a whole lot of surgical procedures going on for anything and everything. And a lot of times people will jump the gun to get it done. I would think about a all out surgery for a long time before me personally would go through with it. Because a lot of time it's not necessary. Or so I think. I just think it might be a life long hardship, or potentially.
I know someone personally who just had his prostate removed because of cancer. It was all localized in one area. My stepdad let us know only 4 or 5 days notice before the operation. He just had it done on monday. We didn't know he had it. I told him over the phone I personally wouldn't jump to such a surgery so fast. He said he had done the research and that was the best thing to do, given it was all in one spot. I told him about marijuana being a possible alternative. Even if it meant going to another state where it was legal medically. He said that was probably something he shouldn't do. I had even shown him and my grandpa a clip on youtube where cannabis oil was used in comparison to chemo cream. The difference was dumbfounding. But it cured it. My grandpa had said he had heard of it being used for glaucoma before I showed them it on cancer. Marinol is a synthetic THC in pill form. THC is only one of an estimated 465 compounds in the plant. Is it any wonder it can be used to treat more than one thing? Still the studies show it cures cancer.
I asked if he had any symptoms. He said it was hard to pee. Kind of like an on and off type of thing. He said that comes with older age anyway. I asked if there was pain or other symptoms. He said no cancer doesn't cause pain. That's peculiar isn't it? Usually your body would let you know if something was wrong-that's logical to me. I go by feel. Perhaps the urinating would have been the sign. I asked if he would still function afterward. He said he would have a 50/50 chance of his waterworks working. I just said I would look at the options. I don't believe half the shit doctors say anyway. Here most of them aren't healthy enough to qualify to give me medical advice. All they do is issue a medication. That's it. Then you come back they'll issue 20 medications after time goes on. You think these people feel good? I don't care what type of education they have. It doesn't take a genius to use common sense. If someone looks healthier than me, say a doctor for instance, I'll use them instead. They probably know what their talking about. Or if they are happier. I don't know. I first go for the obvious.
He had the surgery. They said it hadn't spread initially. Now just before he went home the other day they said it actually had spread. The tumor had spread. So he will undergo radiation therapy in 4-5 weeks. Shits archaic. It seems like we are living in the stone age or something. I don't believe in it. I think their is an actual source problem that has to do with stress. He has worked almost 40 years and has just retired at the beginning of this month. So that was a major switch. That could have caused a bit of stress. I don't believe half the shit they say. A lot of time I think the current medical science kills people off. I can't wait for integrative medicine to take hold.
I got buddies who have had back surgeries. That's a pretty big deal in my opinion. To have rods, pins and screw or what have you. I get it if you have a car wreck and they need to put you back together. I have a few places in my back that are screwed. One is in my neck. One is in the thoracic area and the other is in the lower back. The lower back is a tendon or ligament issue. And it is connected to my sciatic nerve. Sometimes if I am too sedentary, my muscles will diminish to the extent of that sciatic paining me greatly. Sometimes it will run all the way down my hamstring and into my calf, the pain will. Sometimes the pain is so great it makes me feel like I'm gonna puke. That's when I eat some ibuprofen. I normally don't do man made pills. Marijuana will take the pain away too and (if done moderately) it will cause me to do isometric exercise. If I build up muscle it holds everything in place and I don't feel like I have to adjust my back all the time. It's annoying.
I just think people need to weigh their option on surgeries. Also on alternative medicines. There are places all over the globe that could provide you with in-patient sessions with LSD for addictions or spiritual bankruptcy and MDMA (for couples or people with PTSD). Or different rituals across the globe that have special brews of hallucinogenic plants coupled with another plant being an MAOI. It would be worth the research and the money to travel and treat something holistically. They are available in clinical settings. They are available in supervised settings. In 10-20 years marijuana will be fully legal in every state I would bet. And other plants too. 45% of the US is unsatisfied with the current healthcare system. Most of them are for-profits that spite out competition. It's only a matter of time before the people change the laws granting non-profits the ability to compete. It's only a matter of time before you see more and more studies show the success of holistic approaches. One should be wary of what the incentive of these corporations are. If it is a for-profit, then that is what their incentive is-profit.

Great write, it does seem no one thinks twice about surgery anymore, like an easy way out.
